Well on to week two with my detox. I’m feeling great right now and decided to start using Alissa Cohen’s, Living on Live Foods cookbook as my source for foods this week.
Season for Detox – Day 7
The first full week of the detox has been completed. This is becoming an enjoyable experience. What I feel after one week is less brain fog. It’s good to feel that I can remember things better, all by letting my body get cleansed.
Season for Detox – Day 6
Okay – for day 6 of my detox I almost wanted to go out and buy a bag of potato chips; the well-baked, salt and cracked pepper type that gives a great crunch. But I resisted and I’m glad I did. So after that little crisis I got into my huge bag of baby carrots to get my crunch.
Season for Detox – Day 5
Five days in and I’m feeling fine! It’s getting more exciting to try new foods each day on this detox. One thing I’m learning is to have something to eat before you get too hungry, and eating raw vegan will let you get hungry more often than eating animal proteins and fats.
Season for Detox – Day 4
Tiredness finally hit this morning. I slept to almost 10 a.m. That felt good. Feeling tired can be a part of a detox. The body is working hard to shake off the toxins taht embedded in the cells. I can apprecaie the process.
Season for Detox – Day 3
Morning was met with a dull headache. Don’t like this feeling. There’s also a feeling of lightness which is actually a good thing. I don’t feel as heavy as I do after sleeping with a big meal on my stomach.
Season for Detox – Day 2
Why is it that as soon as you decide to make a change in your eating habits all of the temptations in the world seem to flow towards you? On day 2, Friday, it is time to go out to eat.
Season for Detox – Day 1
Detoxing has it’s up’s and down’s. The very first and most important step io take is to make up your mind to actually get started. You have to decide to do it. The determination comes in the head first; that’s what gets you through any type of change in your life.
Season for a Detox
I decided to start a detox program yesterday, November 1. That was a great day to get going; the first of a fresh month. I intend to journal my process through this blog. I did this a few years ago when I detoxed from caffeine and learned it was very helpful for others. So join me for my journey on this detox. In the new year, consider joining me for a detox of your own.
Anti-Aging Tip #8 – The Sugar Factor
Research done on diabetes has led to information about the effects of too much sugar on cells in the body that form glycation end products or (AGE’s). This process causes protein fibers to become stiff and malformed. To help cut back on your sugar consumption, eat more fruits and sweet vegetables to tame the sweet cravings. Read labels to minimize your intake of added sugars.
